The Retail Sales Supervisor is an inspirational leader of the Management team, whose main responsibilities are to maximize store sales while effectively managing wage costs and to achieve high standards of visual and loss prevention practices. As the leader of exceptional customer service in their store, the Retail Sales Supervisor is responsible for recruiting and ensuring employee development for future succession. The Retail Sales Supervisor achieves these goals by meeting the Company\u2019s 7 Corporate Objectives, adhering to Company policies and procedures and by being a strong and respected role model to all team members.<\/p>\n
Duties:<\/p>\n
Training, Coaching and Development
\n\u2022\tPartnering with the District Manager to ensure all necessary training for the position is completed
\n\u2022\tActively participating in their own training by putting into practice what has been learned
\n\u2022\tProviding fair, ongoing and effective training and coaching to all employees so that they can successfully execute their jobs, by using all available training resources to maximum benefit
\n\u2022\tRegularly assessing employee performance using available tools and providing constructive feedback on progress and development
\n\u2022\tHolding employees accountable through a fair and consistent performance management process
\n\u2022\tCounselling and effectively resolving performance issues through effective coaching and the use of Performance Improvement Plans and Development Plans
\n\u2022\tProviding training and ensuring compliance with all Company policies (e.g. HR, Administration, Loss Prevention)
\n\u2022\tProviding coaching to employees in accordance with the Company\u2019s performance management policies
\n\u2022\tTerminating employees when all training and coaching methods have been exhausted and additional termination criteria has been met
\n\u2022\tCompleting necessary health and safety training and ensuring employees meet and adhere to corporate health and safety policy requirements that contribute to a safe work place<\/p>\n
Hiring and Succession Planning:
\n\u2022\tReacting with a sense of urgency to recruitment needs while utilizing all tools available
\n\u2022\tConducting interviews and extending offers of employment, provided new hire criteria is met
\n\u2022\tConducting pre-employment checks on potential hires (e.g. reference checks, credit and criminal checks)
\n\u2022\tEnsuring the store is well staffed with skilled and experienced employees who meet Company expectations
\n\u2022\tCommitting to retaining the best talent by creating an environment where, fair and just management is practiced and employees feel valued and respected
\n\u2022\tEnsuring a consistent and strategic commitment to succession planning
\n\u2022\tBeing committed to internal promotion and employee career pathing<\/p>\n
Customer Service Excellence:
\n\u2022\tEnsuring all employees are committed to providing exceptional customer service, with the support of current customer service tools
\n\u2022\tEnsuring all customers have a memorable and enjoyable shopping experience at all times, by providing friendly and knowledgeable service, including product benefits and features
\n\u2022\tEnsuring the store is neat, clean and organized (NCO) at all times, including the stockroom\/backroom and washrooms
\n\u2022\tResponding appropriately to customer inquiries and concerns and making decisions, whenever possible, in favor of the customer
\n\u2022\tProjecting professionalism and Company image by adhering to Company dress code policies<\/p>\n
Time Management:
\n\u2022\tEffectively utilizing time management skills to meet Company objectives, within set timelines
\n\u2022\tEnsuring optimal scheduling is being achieved
\n\u2022\tAssigning and distributing duties to employees
\n\u2022\tReviewing and authorizing requested time off
\n\u2022\tReviewing and authorizing employee availability changes<\/p>\n
Sales and Wage Cost:
\n\u2022\tEnsuring the store meets sales and wage cost objectives, utilizing available resources to maximize business opportunities and responding strategically and promptly to fluctuations in the business
\n\u2022\tEnsuring strategic and successful inventory management, including the prompt completion of markdowns<\/p>\n
Visual Merchandising:
\n\u2022\tEnsuring visual merchandising and marketing directions are implemented as per visual directives, within required timeframes
\n\u2022\tParticipating in execution of visual launches
\n\u2022\tEnsuring effective maintenance of Company visual merchandising standards
\n\u2022\tProviding guidance to the visual team in terms of visual execution
\n\u2022\tMaintaining a solid understanding of colors, fabrics, trends and designs, including an ability to maximize fashion knowledge<\/p>\n
Loss Prevention:
\n\u2022\tAssisting in loss prevention training for all employees
\n\u2022\tEnsuring loss prevention policies and practices are adhered to, in order to achieve shrink target
\n\u2022\tConducting employee bag checks before and after an employee\u2019s shift
\n\u2022\tNotifying the District Loss Prevention Manager of any loss prevention related concerns<\/p>\n
Requirements:
\n\u2022\tCompletion of secondary school is required
\n\u2022\tAt least one year of experience in retail management is required
\n\u2022\tAt least six months of experience in retail sales and\/or visual merchandising
\n\u2022\tProficient with technology including POS system, and HRIS systems such as Dayforce
\n\u2022\tEffective leader
\n\u2022\tPeople person, with strong ability to communicate with customers and employees
\n\u2022\tStrong team building skills
\n\u2022\tTime management, organizational and multi-tasking ability
\n\u2022\tUnderstanding of the principles of exceptional customer service
\n\u2022\tStrong merchandising and presentation skills
\n\u2022\tExcellent problem-solving skills
