\nThriftys is hiring a Manager of Ladies Design! This is a 12-month contract position.
\nPosition Overview
\nPartner with the VP of Ladies Merchandising to seasonally analyze and strategize key trends and concepts and be able to adapt those trends and concepts to all classifications to further evolve the Bluenotes brand.
\nDuties & Responsibilities:
\nDuties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
\n\u00b7 Manage team in design, development and execution of all ladies\u2019 private label commodities; provide and oversee market research, product apparel design and labeling\/packaging
\n\u00b7 Identify new and growing categories
\n\u00b7 Identify and present key items, colour, and print directions to ensure Bluenotes is always a leader in junior fashion trends
\n\u00b7 Research and create trend reports to provide creative direction to the buying and design teams
\n\u00b7 Strong technical and design background in all aspects of apparel including denim
\n\u00b7 Initiate the designs for each commodity while working with the buyer\u2019s assortment plan\/shopping list
\n\u00b7 Direct the types of design and development required for each merchandise category including key silhouettes, trims, treatments, as well as development of print, pattern and graphic ideas from concept to production
\n\u00b7 Partner with the Manger of QC on all garment fittings and ensure that the integrity of the design is maintained while ensuring proper fits; provide comments and artwork corrections to overseas vendors
\n\u00b7 Team development and mentorship including performance evaluations, hiring and training of design team
\n\u00b7 Perform other duties as required
\nWhat you need to be a successful Manager or Ladies Design with Thriftys Family of Brands:
\n\u00b7 Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Fashion or Art (or equivalent experience and education).
\n\u00b7 5+ years related experience
\n\u00b7 Knowledge of garment construction, patterning, textiles, sewing techniques and product development life cycle
\n\u00b7 Ability to act as liaison between many departments; excellent communication and analytic skills.
\n\u00b7 Must be detail oriented, computer literate and to handle multiple tasks at once.
