The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for managing the Accounts Payable department while focusing on compliance, process review and ensuring A/P performance objectives are met.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, implement and maintain systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to Company guidelines
Take corrective action to resolve Accounts Payable KPI variances
Monitor and ensure Accounts Payable service level agreements for invoice processing and payment are supported and adhered to
Ensure the Accounts Payable payment processes have proper controls in place to manage risk
Develop and make recommendations on the modification and revision of standards & processing related to Accounts Payable
Resolve Accounts Payable issues raised by direct reports and others
Manage monthly closing of accounts payable records and posting of month end information
Provide guidance and support to internal customers with regards to Accounts Payable activities
Hire, train and evaluate employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product.
Prepare month-end close for Accounts Payable
Assist in annual audits
Minimum 2+ years’ experience in an Accounts Payable managerial role
CMA,CGA designation or equivalent preferred
Experience working with accounting software
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of the retail industry an asset
Demonstrated skills in corporate governance, policies, and procedure
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Exceptional ability to build rapport and partnerships with team members
Hands-on leader, with a can-do, roll-up-your sleeves attitude.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments
