Position Overview:

The Lease Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing financial and administrative functions that ensure accurate reporting of occupancy and other related costs for Canadian retail stores. This role will be part of the Lease Management team, which manages leases for over 700 stores in Canada and the USA. The position reports to the Leasing Supervisor and is responsible for processing rent payments and reconciling rent accounts with landlords. The role ensures that rent payment is accurate and rent account is up to date.


  • Maintain an accurate monthly rent roll by reviewing and processing all payment and vendor changes in a timely manner
  • Reconcile data from the accounting system with the rent roll worksheet
  • Update the legal and operational terms and provisions of the rent payment according to landlord’s rental notice
  • Calculate percentage rents payable & CAP stores refund due
  • Track and follow up on year-end adjustments for the stores
  • Update accounting system for adjustments and CAP invoices
  • Receive and verify statement of account from landlord to reconcile the account
  • Communicate with landlord for all rent issues
  • Prepare other rent-related reports per requirements


  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in an Accounting or Leasing position
  • Proficient in MS Office with intermediate or higher skill level in Excel
  • Experience using lease administration database software
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
  • Ability to communicate with landlords effectively
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Lawson ERP knowledge is an asset
