Position Description:

As the Manager of Office Services and Building Maintenance you will lead and set the strategic direction for the Supply, Mailroom, Office Services and Store/Building Maintenance teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage retail store and building maintenance and supply needs for Canada and USA
  • Oversee the purchasing of all store supplies (bags, forms, cash register rolls, etc.)
  • Control department budgets
  • Negotiate contracts and monitor their progress, ensuring quality of service is maintained
  • Manage all building maintenance and operations, including snow removal, interior cleaning and landscaping
  • Forecast levels of demand for services and products to meet business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels
  • Ensure light bulbs, bags, hangers, gift and merchandise cards are stocked and available for select banners
  • Develop a vendor base to support competitive cost saving advantages
  • Handle freight and courier negotiations and analysis, including invoices for both streams
  • Review and authorize invoices
  • Hire, train and evaluate employees to enhance their performance, development and work product. Address performance issues when needed

Qualifications

  • Ability to travel both nationally and internationally
  • Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends
  • BA or BS Degree in purchasing field or 5+ years of experience in Office Services/Building Maintenance field
  • 5+ years in supervisory capacity
  • Knowledge of retail environment an asset
  • Strong Management skills
