The Art Director is responsible for leading a creative brand development from conceptualization to final production. This role works with a team of Designers, Photographers and Illustrators to create original print, ecom and advertising material for the Company. The Art Director works both independently and with other departments.
Essential Job Functions:
Establish creative direction to deliver a cohesive look and style across all consumer touch points (including digital ads, promotions, E-Commerce website, weekly promotional emails, in-store marketing material)
Coordinate projects from start to finish (concept, layout, build, research, print production, and shipping)
Execute seasonal photoshoots and email strategy
Coordinate with outside agencies, art services, printers to ensure fast and effective turnaround of printed collateral
Create allocation/distribution lists for store signage when required
Maintain current market knowledge by preparing trend reports, visiting retail environments and online research
Maintain technical knowledge by attending design workshops, reviewing professional publications, participating in professional societies.
College Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design or related work experience
Minimum 5 years graphic design experience, in retail or fashion services preferred
Strong analytical and research skills, overall business knowledge and consumer trend awareness
Must be extremely detail oriented
Strong communication (written and verbal), organization and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to take initiative to achieve objectives
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
Strong knowledge of Adobe creative suite & MAC
Knowledge in Content Manager, Shopify an asset
Strong time management and multitasking skills and a great work ethic
