Reports to: Director of E-commerce/Marketing
Role Overview:
The Storyteller / Content Manager is the creative force behind developing stories and themes for each collection, ensuring that storytelling is consistent, engaging, and strategically aligned across all digital channels. This dual-brand role supports two brands, each with its own unique voice and distinct characteristics. This role focuses on collaborating with the merchandising team to translate collection directions into compelling narratives and deploying them across all touchpoints. By partnering with channel managers, this individual ensures a cohesive execution of brand identity and themes that resonate with the target audience and align with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Story and Theme Development:
- Collaborate with the Head Merchandiser to receive direction on themes, inspirations, and highlights for each collection.
- Develop compelling stories and themes based on merchandising input, aligning them with the distinct identities and target audiences of both brands.
- Act as the custodian of collection narratives, ensuring they are effectively communicated across all channels.
- Content Strategy and Creation:
- Build content-driven strategies centered on the themes and stories of each collection to enhance brand presence and engagement.
- Establish and manage the content story on each channel, including the website, emails, blogs, videos, style guides, lookbooks, and product narratives that align with each collection’s story.
- Oversee the development of lifestyle-driven content that ties back to collection themes and enhances brand storytelling.
- Cross-Channel Execution:
- Partner with channel managers (e.g., social media, email marketing, website, and digital ads) to ensure collection stories are consistently executed across all platforms.
- Customize narratives to suit the nuances of each channel while maintaining the unique voice and overall cohesion of both brands.
- Oversee the integration of collection stories into digital product pages, category pages, and campaign messaging.
- Campaign Development:
- Conceptualize campaigns that align with the stories and themes of each collection. Gain alignment on direction from senior team and ensure business goals are met.
- Plan and manage storytelling-driven email campaigns, including promotions, product launches, and seasonal themes.
- Work closely with creative teams to ensure campaigns visually and narratively reflect the collection’s themes and the unique characteristics of each brand.
- Collaboration and Leadership:
- Collaborate with writers, social media teams, photographers, and designers to bring collection stories to life.
- Act as the primary liaison between merchandising, creative, and channel teams to ensure a unified execution of collection narratives.
- Provide guidance and direction to ensure all content aligns with the unique voice, ethos, and editorial standards of both brands.
- Analytics and Optimization:
- Measure the performance of collection-driven storytelling initiatives using revenue, engagement, conversion, and traffic metrics.
- A/B test new strategies to improve overall performance.
- Use data insights to refine storytelling strategies and improve future content performance.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in content creation, brand storytelling, or editorial management, preferably in fashion, lifestyle, or e-commerce.
- Proven track record of managing content strategies that drive engagement and conversions.
Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a focus on digital platforms.
- Strong understanding of brand identity, voice, and audience engagement strategies.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), email marketing tools (e.g., Klaviyo), and marketing automation platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with SEO, social media trends, and content performance analytics.
- Ability to lead creative projects from concept to execution, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with fashion or lifestyle brands and a passion for building brand communities.
- Knowledge of design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and basic graphic design principles.
- Understanding of omnichannel marketing and customer journey optimization.
