Job description:

Key Highlights for Application Support Analyst

  • Lead Technical Support for IBM iSeries (AS400): Serve as the primary support resource for AS400/iSeries applications, ensuring stability, performance, and operational integrity.
  • Hands-On Application Troubleshooting: Provide expert assistance to end users, diagnose issues, and deliver timely resolutions across AS400 and Windows-based systems.
  • System Administration & Maintenance: Oversee day‑to‑day system operations, evaluate and apply patches, recommend upgrades, and support ongoing application lifecycle management.
  • Data Security & Compliance: Contribute to safeguarding information assets by supporting data protection practices, identifying risks, and recommending corrective measures.
  • Program Development Support: Assist in developing, modifying, and maintaining iSeries programs while upholding documentation and development standards.
  • Process & Efficiency Improvements: Evaluate system performance, document support interactions, and propose enhancements to improve user experience and operational workflows.
  • Training & Documentation: Help create technical training materials, user guides, and support documentation for internal teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams and business units to support new application rollouts, system features, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Technical Experience:
  • Hands-on experience with IBM iSeries (AS400) systems, including operations, support, or development.
  • Strong understanding of RPGLE, CLLE, SQLRPGLE programming languages
  • Strong understanding of system integration between

IBM iSeries and Windows-based applications

  • Familiarity with other Windows-based applications and tools
  • General Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Understanding of data security principles, system integrity, and IT best practices.
  • Ability to document processes, create user guides, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent technical support service
