The Instructional Designer is responsible for overall design, development, testing, implementation and evaluation of learning solutions and curricula for the Company Learning Management System. This role will work closely with the Director, Training and Development and other members of the team to develop diverse, functional and engaging web and mobile-based learning experiences.
Essential Job Functions:
Design and maintain curriculum for a variety of e-learning, blended and classroom-based solutions
Leverage gaming, simulation and other platforms to create an interactive learning experience
Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to conceptualize and design overall components of the program
Work with external vendors in the development and delivery of 3rd party course material (e.g. Skillsoft)
Conduct development tests to ensure design fulfills needs of learners
Handle the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the Company’s Learning Management System
Develop functional requirement documents and specifications for ongoing maintenance
Look for opportunities to innovate, incorporate emerging technologies and processes and in the existing frameworks
Post-secondary education in instructional design or related field
A minimum of two years’ work experience in e-learning-based instructional design
Experience with audio video production editing an asset
Advanced in Microsoft Office
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Proficient in one of these 3 platforms: Articulate 360, Storyline 360, or similar platform.
