The QA Systems Specialist is responsible for assisting the QA Manager in all areas of testing for Systems Development. The QA Systems Specialist gathers information and performs testing on all new and modified POS applications. The duties and responsibilities of this position will be adapted to the requirements of the department as the needs of the Company and the department change.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
QA Responsibilities
· Assist with development of project plans and coordination of schedules
· Execute work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
· Act as a liaison between internal departments working on the project and store communications
· Take detailed minutes of QA project meetings. Summarize and distribute accordingly
· Assist with monitoring project progress and timelines
· Assist the project manager with creating and maintaining issues log during project implementation
· Ensure QA documents are complete, current and stored appropriately
· Provide administrative and technical support to the project team
· Maintain and update relevant project information in manual or electronic files
· Maintain existing tools for progress monitoring
· Research and analyze relevant information as needed
· Assist in project close-out procedures for all QA projects
· Perform a range of administrative duties through all phases of a project, from start-up to close-out
· Ability to be proactive in seeking new or improved administrative procedures; planning and implementing changes and managing projects
· Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
· Ability to manage the work of others, as well as give advice on administrative matters
· Develop and maintain a solid understanding of our current POS environment and system
· Maintain and secure any POS software and/or hardware that is connected to the Card Data Environment (CDE)
· Analyze and share recommendations to improve/modify existing processes
· Document the agreed upon solution and share with Team members
· Analyze data, draw conclusions and document as applicable
· Develop and execute test plans for system and user acceptance testing
· Administer and participate in system integration and support acceptance testing
· Participate in banner testing for development
· Assist with business cases
· Gather POS business requirements with appropriate resources
· Coordinate meetings with associated resources for business requirements
· Office and occasional warehouse environment
· Experience in retail technology
· Experience with Point-of-Sale hardware and infrastructure
· Knowledge of the retail industry an asset
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· Xstore experience would be an asset.
· Ability to work accurately in a fast paced, multitasked environment, under tight deadlines
